Donation drive will continue for victims in West

For an as-yet-undefined period of time, daily donations of needed items will be accepted by VFW Post 7835 for transport to West, site of a deadly fertilizer plant explosion that leveled homes and buildings for blocks. Items will be accepted at the Post’s 3670 W. Highway 377 location (toward Tolar) every day between noon and 10 p.m. Items needed include toiletries, pet and baby care products and socks and underwear. The VFW will send the trailers as they become full. Donations to cover travel expenses would be appreciated, according to organizer Chris Watson.
Leadership Granbury collecting items to transport to site of deadly explosion in West

Items are being collected at the Hood County Library on North Travis Street for transport by members of Leadership Granbury to West near Waco, where an explosion at a fertilizer plant killed as many as 15 people and injured more than 160 others. Delivery of the items will likely take place on Saturday, giving Hood County residents through Friday to drop off donations.
