Granbury High School will remain in Class 4A for the 2012-13 and 2012-14 school years. The classification was made as part of the biennial reclassification and realignment of schools by the University Interscholastic League, a division of the University of Texas at Austin that oversees school extracurricular activities.

College And Career Fair Set For January 26 At GHS

Granbury High School will host a College and Career Fair on the evening of Thursday, January 26, 2012. The fair will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the high school cafeteria.
Both four-year and two-year colleges will be represented. In addition, information from technical and vocational schools as well as the military will be available.

Community Bank Matches Donations to Habitat

Community Bank once again is offering its matching funds campaign for Habitat for Humanity of Hood County. Donations can be made at any of the bank's three locations. The bank will match the gift dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,500 per gift. The matching donations program with Community Bank continues through Jan. 30, 2012. GRANBURY, TX – The Granbury Chamber of Commerce recently received notification that its 2011 Granbury Area Guide & Membership Directory won gold in the prestigious MarCom Awards for outstanding creative achievement by marketing and creative professionals. Community Thanksgiving November 20th

The community Thanksgiving service is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 20, 6:00 p.m. at Granbury First United Methodist Church. The speaker for this year's service is Glenn Ward, who recently retired as pastor at Acton Baptist Church. "This service is intended to draw the Christian community together around a common cause -- to receive an offering to bless People Helping People," said spokesman Pastor Larry Dickson. A number of local ministries will be involved.
Lady Pirates Crowned Area Champs

The Lady Pirate volleyball team won the area championship and advanced to the Class 4A regional quarterfinals for the third year in a row. The girls defeated Saginaw Boswell (25-16, 25-22, 25-12) on November 3, 2011, at Weatherford High School.
The team will square off against the winner of the Arlington Seguin-Byron Nelson game to be played on Friday, November 4. Details are pending the outcome of that game.

The American Cancer Society Relay Kick-Off

A ribbon cutting ceremony for The American Cancer Society will highlight this year’s Relay Kick-Off on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Hewlett Park, 4:30pm. Hewlett Park is located at 634 E. Pearl St. The ribbon cutting ceremony, hosted by Granbury’s Chamber of Commerce, will kick off the open house from 4:30 -6:30pm, followed by leaders and volunteers communicating the importance of Relay For Life and its impact on the fight against cancer.
Community Supports FFA Program

Hundreds turned out at Granbury High School on October 13, 2011, for the annual Granbury FFA barbecue dinner and auction. The organization raised almost $9,000 to support program activities.
A smoker and 5x10 trailer were the two grand door prizes, with numerous other auction items and prizes available. James Lewis was the lucky winner of the smoker, while Carol Howard took home the trailer. In addition, Rebecca Barnes won a fire pit.
